Yorba Linda, Orange County
Yorba Linda combines the name of the Yorba family, who held the land grant along the Santa Ana River, with the Spanish word for pretty. A land company began selling small citrus and avocado farms here around 1908, and the groves lasted into the 1960s. The city, incorporated in 1967, still has miles of horse trails winding behind its houses.
